Pet Pantry
The Virginia Beach SPCA Pet Pantry provides dog and cat food to families facing financial hardship. Applications must be completed in person at the shelter.
Eligibility Requirements
To qualify, applicants must:
- Be 18 or older
- Show a valid photo ID with a current address in Virginia Beach, Suffolk, or Portsmouth
- Provide proof of government assistance or a household income of $35,000 or less
- List all household members over 18
- Show proof pets are spayed/neutered and up to date on rabies vaccines
Program Guidelines
- An application is required; all information is confidential
- Food must be picked up during regular business hours with your Pet Pantry card
- Food is donation-based and subject to availability
- Amount provided depends on pet size, number of pets, and supply
- Food may not be resold
- VBSPCA reserves the right to deny or adjust assistance based on individual needs
