Policies & Procedures
The VBSPCA Clinic provides low-cost veterinary care for qualifying households earning under $65,000, as well as active duty military, reservists, their families, and first responders. Vaccine clinics and spay/neuter services are available to all clients regardless of income.
Proof of Income
Most clients may be asked to provide proof of income before services are delivered. Acceptable documentation includes a recent tax return or other government-issued documentation.
Exceptions include:
- Vaccine clinic clients
- Spay/neuter clients
- Active duty military, reservists, and their dependents
- First responders
Scheduling an Appointment
Due to high demand and pet overpopulation, our clinic primarily serves animals that are already spayed or neutered or have a pre-paid spay/neuter appointment.
Appointments can be scheduled by:
- Completing the online form at the bottom of the page
- Calling (757) 427-0071 and pressing 1
Please provide a valid daytime phone number. Response times may be up to 24 hours (longer on weekends). If your request is urgent, please call instead of submitting the form. For emergencies, please contact an emergency veterinary hospital or clinic.
Cancellation / No-show Policy
Appointments must be canceled at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled time.
For surgical appointments, cancellations must be made at least 2 business days in advance.
Clients who miss appointments or cancel late may forfeit any deposits associated with scheduled services.
